The European Beer Brewer's Congress of year 1906 took place in "Waldschlößchen" aka Mežpils beer brewery in Latvia. This fact serves as a proof for well-known Latvian brewing traditions far beyond Latvian borders. "Waldschlößchen" (meaning "castle in the forest") is today well known as the Aldaris beer brewery.
A special beer called Mežpils was brewed to honor the great brewer's congress today.
