Description: Estonians thought about hepatitis only when going travelling. When there was a big hepatitis outbreak in Viljandi county, we had to make people realize that it is possible to get hepatitis also in Estonia. With limited time and funds we had to create a campaign that would reach as much people as possible. The goal: To increase voluntary vaccination Execution: We used the Matchstick man, a known symbol of Viljandi county, only instead of the ordinary red we used yellow colour. Our media surfaces were shopping carts, public transport and trash bins – the same surfaces the healthy and the infected persons touch. The result: The number of vaccinations grew 90% Why it is presented: The campaign that was created with limited time and funds, made it to the news. Known television show hosts, the Minister of Social Affairs, the governor of Viljandi county... everybody expressed their opinions about this campaign. All these stories helped to spread the message and accordingly to the governor of Viljandi county, the claims about how the people of Viljandi county are offended by this campaign are not true.
Eestlaste jaoks oli hepatiit seotud peamiselt reisimisega. Viljandimaal toimunud haiguspuhangu tõttu tekkis vajadus inimestele teada anda, et ka koduses Eestis on see oht olemas. Piiratud aja ja rahaliste vahenditega tuli luua kampaania, mis jõuaks võimalikult suure hulga inimesteni.
