Eesti Gaas, the market leader in gas solutions, entered the electricity market, where it was automatically a small player. To compete with the market leader, the message had to be sharp and distinctive. Over 10 000 potential Eesti Gaas’ customers received a direct mail, which had a candle attached to it with a message: “Don’t burn money, burn a candle. Sign a contract with Eesti Gaas and you will get electricity with two times cheaper margin than from the market leader. And in the memory of your big bills, you can now light this candle.”
